Use of corrugated steel pipes is a modern method applied in the construction of passages and bridges of railroads and highways. It is characterized by minimal expenditures for materials, low cost of pipes installation in structures, reduction of construction time and insignificant costs associated with pipes transportation to the assembly and installation site.

Ulyanovsk Research Institute of Aviation Technology and Production Organization has been developing this technology.


The cutting line (1-3) is designed for metal sheet crosscutting to work pieces of the required size.

The stamping line (4-5) is designed for corrugated steel sheet supplied from the crosscutting workshop.

The calibration line (6) is used to calibrate metal sheets supplied from the corrugation line.

When a sheet is supplied from the corrugation line to the feed roller table, press the "FORWARD" buttons on the control panel of the feed roller table and the calibration machine (to enable the driving gears of the feed roller table, receiving roller table and calibration machine). After that guide rollers of the supply roller table will transfer the sheet to the calibration machine, and then it will enter the receiving roller table to be supplied to the perforation line.

The perforation line (7-9) is designed to perforate metal sheets supplied from the calibration line.

The bending line (10-12) is designed to bend corrugated metal sheets to the required radius.

LS-DYNA finite element analysis program was used to carry out equipment design. This simulation process allowed obtaining all the necessary dependencies to work out the optimal technology for products manufacturing, as well as such parameters as the stamping and forming force of the longitudinal radius, minimum radius values and much more. Based on these parameters, diameters of forming and bending shafts of the equipment were calculated.
